Upper Extremity Arterial Doppler
Upper Extremity Arterial Doppler is a non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound examination that uses Doppler and colorDoppler modalities to study the morphology and flowmetry of the arteries of the upper limbs.
Upper Extremity Arterial Doppler is used for the diagnosis of atherosclerotic disease that occurs with:
- atherosclerotic plaque with haemodynamic impact (stenosis)
- thrombosis
The anatomical and flowmeter data collected through this examination allow the monitoring of the disease, the effectiveness of the therapy and the outcome of the surgery over time.
Upper Extremity Arterial Doppler has no contraindications.
Upper Extremity Arterial Doppler has no risks.
The execution of this exam does not include preparation rules.

You will be made comfortable on the examination table. Gel will be applied to the area being imaged to help create a good contact between you and the ultrasound probe. The probe will be placed on your limbs and gently moved back and forth to image the arteries.
