Hematology

Hematology is a branch of internal medicine that deals with the physiology, pathology, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood-related disorders. We identify four major areas of study within hematology:
  • haemoglobinopathy: genetic disorders that affect the structure or production of hemoglobin molecules
  • haematological malignancies: neoplasms of the bone marrow, blood and lymph nodes
  • anemia: a condition in which the number of red blood cells is low
  • coagulopathy: a condition in which the blood's ability to coagulate (form clots) is impaired.

ProKardia, through a team of specialists, offers an assistance aimed to ensure:
  • diagnostic management based on the possible pathophysiological mechanism
  • risk stratification
  • therapeutic management
